Rinse
washing is the simplest and most commonly used washing method for denim garments.
The degree of color fading using regular washing is comparatively slight, but
it provides uniformity, depending on whether it is deeply dyed classic denim or
only moderately dyed with poor penetration.
From detergents to softeners and simple rinse using only water techniques are used to get the washing effect. It is sometimes done only to improve the hand feel, wear ability and comfort of denim garments. Detergent is used for regular washing for about 5-15 min at temperatures between cold-90°C. Softening is applied after the washing process. Sometimes just softener is applied only for 2-3 min. Only softening is done on fabrics have water soluble size material on them. This process gives softness to garments and remove size material in a single process of washing, saving water and is environment friendly.

Regular
washing can improve the softness and comfort properties of denim garments as
well as enhance aesthetic property. Depending on the time and amount of
chemicals used, regular washing can be classified into
- light washing (washing time about 1-5 min)
- normal washing (washing time about 6-15 min)
- heavy washing (washing time about 30 min)
However,
there is no significant distinction between light, normal and heavy regular
washing as it depends on the actual washing conditions.
